The “Trust Your Taste, CHOOSE EUROPEAN QUALITY” project promoted by ASSICA intends to improve the level of knowledge of EU agricultural products, through the promotion of the production culture behind pork and cured meats, enhancing the high European standards and the great historical tradition that distinguishes this sector.
The project has a three-year duration (2021-2024), takes place in Italy and Belgium and benefits from co-financing by the European Commission under Regulation (EU) 1144/2014 (Information and promotion actions regarding agricultural products on the interior market).
With this project ASSICA proposes a new supply chain model and increase the sustainability of the sector, from the initial stages to distribution. To achieve these objectives, specific information actions will be carried out on some fundamental steps in the production of cured meats produced according to European standards, such as food safety, nutritional aspects, animal welfare and more generally the concept of sustainable production, which are currently the most controversial and debated aspects by some European citizens.
With regard to the public, the “Trust Your Taste, CHOOSE EUROPEAN QUALITY” project focuses on highlighting and describing the characteristics of the Union’s pork products, to improve their image, perception and make consumers more informed and aware.
